Funkee Foods is a hot sauce brand who turn the often-overlooked fresh fruits and vegetables into flavourful, healthy hot sauces. Inspired by West African culture, their mission is to inspire food lovers to spice up their everyday meals with their one-of-a-kind hot sauces.
the challenge
BEFORE
Funkee Foods had no problem getting people excited about their hot sauces at food markets. But when it came time to order more online, the energy just wasn’t there. The website felt disconnected from the products, and was clashing with the bold new branding she’d just invested in.
Every time someone asked where they could buy more, the founder hesitated to share the link. After three years with the same site, it was clear that the website was outdated, and was holding her back. The brand had evolved. Now it was time for the website to catch up and deliver that same spark.

Our goal was to bring that same playful, exciting, and innovative energy online, that matched the buzz people felt at food markets. To do that, we designed a site that told a story.
We highlighted how these sauces could elevate everyday meals. We shared the founder’s mission and passion for making flavourful sauces more accessible and fun for everyone. And visually, we leaned into the vibrancy, by building a bold, energetic website that mirrored the funky personality of the brand.
